What you get

Painting done in the right order

Most paint jobs fail at the prep stage, not the paint stage. We scrape, fill, sand, caulk and prime before a finish coat goes on, and we cover floors and furniture first. That is why we can put a 1 year warranty behind interior and exterior painting work.

We have been painting homes in this area since 2006, so we know how local siding, trim and older woodwork behave through a New Jersey winter.

Outside

Exterior painting

Siding, trim, shutters, doors, porches, railings and garages. On exteriors we usually soft wash the surface first so paint goes onto something clean instead of onto mold and chalky residue. That step is the difference between a coat that holds and a coat that peels in two summers.

We also handle window glazing and rotten trim spots, and we can stain or refinish a deck at the same time so the whole outside of the house matches.

  • Soft wash before paint where it is needed
  • Scrape, sand, prime and caulk
  • Bare wood spot primed before finish coats
  • Trim, shutters, doors and railings
Inside

Interior painting

Walls, ceilings, trim, doors, stairwells and cabinets. We do full wall prep, patch and sand before painting, and we remove wallpaper when a room needs it. Furniture is moved or covered and floors are protected the whole time.

Benjamin Moore® is what we put on the wall. If fumes are a concern because of kids, pets or someone working from home, ask for the lower VOC lines. If you are stuck on colors, we offer color consulting so you are not guessing from a chip in the store.

Commercial

Commercial and storefront painting

Residential is most of our work, but we take on smaller commercial jobs too: storefronts, offices, apartment exteriors and multi unit buildings. We have lift access for higher exterior work.

If you need a building painted outside of business hours so it does not disrupt customers, say so when you call and we will schedule around it.

Questions

Painting questions

How long does a painting job take?

A single room is usually one to two days. A full interior runs about a week depending on size and how much prep the walls need. Exteriors depend on the weather and the condition of the siding, and we will give you a realistic window when we quote rather than a best case one.

Do I need to move my furniture?

No. We move what needs moving and cover the rest. Take down anything fragile or personal and we will handle the furniture, floors and fixtures.

Do you wash the house before painting the exterior?

Where it is needed, yes. Paint does not bond to mold, mildew or chalky residue. We soft wash first so the surface is clean and the coat lasts.

Can you just do the trim, or one room?

Yes. Small jobs are fine. Trim only, one room, a stairwell, a front door or a set of shutters. Call and tell us what you need.

Do you help with color choices?

Yes, we offer color consulting when you want it. We work with Benjamin Moore® and can bring samples so you can see a color on your own wall in your own light before committing.

Is the paint safe around kids and pets?

We can use lower VOC interior lines, which cut down the smell and off gassing considerably. Mention it when you book and we will spec it that way.
